What is the best way to make money with an online dating site?
What is the best way to make money with an online dating site? I have my own dating site for single movie lovers, but unfortunately I cannot get any of my 700 members to upgrade to paid status.
I saw a dating affiliate program which is supposed to be very profitable, as when you sign up, it gives you its HUGE database of exisitng members in order to attract more custom to your own site.
So which would be the better option for me: continue with my own dating site, or join a dating affiliate program? If it is the latter, can anybody recommend a good, profitable one that pays HIGH commissions?
It sounds like you are trying to reach a niche market, and that market is reluctant to release the funds necessary to go to paid status. Another thing that is hurting you right now is that the paid sites are losing out to the free sites, and there are several of them. The free sites may not have started out as dating sites, but that is what they have become. There is a lot of point and click advertising on these sites which lead to pay sites, which tells me that the owners of these sites make their money by affiliate marketing. What you might want to do is become an affiliate marketer and put those options on your web site and you can get your commissions that way. If you really want to be successful at it, you are going to have to do something different, not the status quo. I'm not so sure that a "turn-key" business is the way to go because that is being sold to a lot of other people all over the US. So I would suggest that you do something different with your site to lure paying members. Good luck to you!

A high converting affiliate programs are programs that have a very high ratio of sales compare to the number of visits that the website have. For example, if the website got 100 people visiting it and there is one sale, the website’s conversion is 1%.
It will of course be better if for every 100 people, there are 10 sales which will means that the conversion is higher and you earn more commissions. You have to know that conversion is really all about how much work that you have to put in to get the commissions.
For example, you pay $5 on a pay per click advertising campaign and you are able to generate 200 visitors to the merchant’s website which claims to have a 30% conversion. If the merchant is selling the product for $57 and you will get a 75% commission for every sale, the number will look like this:
200 Visitors at 30% will be equal to 60sales. For every sale you make, you will make a commission of 75% on $57 = $42.75. Total sales that you will have are $42.75 multiply by 60 which will be a total of $2565. You will make a net profit of $2565-$5 = $2560.
Imagine how much different it will make to your income if you are able to choose a affiliate program that has high conversion. Since you will be putting in the same effort, why not choose one that has got higher conversion so that you will be able to earn more.
This are the reason why you must choose programs with high conversion rate and it will also be good if you can find one affiliate programs that offers high commission percentage as well.
