I have a Palm Treo 650. How can I get GPS?
I have seen other posts but are more than 2 years old. I have seen the Tom Tom set up on ebay but have heard bad reviews. Can I just buy any bluetooth GPS receiver and map software or do I have to stick with certain ones? Also, I would like one that is up to date and has good tracking abilities.

I highly recommend going with a standalone GPS receiver, not adding navigation software to your phone. If you had a Treo 800, 755, 700, or a Palm Centro, I would recommend one piece of software. However, working in tech support for the same company who makes the product I would recommend, the Treo 650 can be a nightmare for navigation software due to it's small amount of available program memory.
If you upgrade to one of the aforementioned models, this would be a different story. You could simply purchase a phone with a built-in GPS or purchase an external Bluetooth receiver. If using an external GPS, I recommend buying the hardware from the same company who provides the software. Examples of these units are Garmin's Mobile 10, (which includes Garmin "GPS 10x") or TomTom's Navigator 5, (which includes TomTom "Bluetooth Wireless GPS Receiver.")
I recommend finding these at Amazon.com.
For now, I suggest going with a standalone automotive GPS.
